  • Reception for Filmmakers and Friends
Between our opening film block and our evening Movies-N-Moonlight film block, stick around and enjoy the Longleaf community of Official Selections filmmakers, their friends, and all their supporters.  Enjoy appetizers and drinks, and opportunities to network and learn!  This year, we even have entertainment:  local musician, Leah Wagner. Tickets are required for entry to the reception.   Friday, May 12, 7–8:15 p.m.  Advance tickets have sold out—thanks for the support!  A limited number of tickets may be available for admission Friday evening.
  • Movies-N-Moonlight, our Friday evening, outdoor screen block!
Like all our film blocks, this one is free; but it’s also outside, bathed in moonlight!  Some seating will be provided, or bring your own as a guarantee.  Note: While the independent films screened are not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), most would fall within the PG-13 range.   Friday, May 12, 8:30–10 p.m.
  • Off-Site Workshop: Introduction to Virtual Production, a workshop presented by Creative Visions and The 541 Co.  This off-site session for filmmakers will provide a look at North Carolina’s first Unreal Engine–driven stage for video production.  The session is free, but registration is required; space is limited.  Maps and directions available; transportation is not provided.  Saturday, May 13, 9–10:30 a.m.
  • In-House Workshop: Directing for the Actor/Acting for the Director, an interactive session for filmmakers and film fans that will enable actors and filmmakers to walk a mile in the other’s shoes. Scene work included!  This session is free, but registration is requested; space is limited.  Saturday, May 13, 11 a.m.–noon.
  • In-House Workshop: Legal Insights for Filmmakers, where you can join in a discussion about some of the many legal aspects—have questions on copyright, distribution, drone usage, location shoots, for example—of filmmaking.  This session is free, but registration is requested; space is limited.  Saturday, May 13, 2–3 p.m.
  • Awards Ceremony
Be here to congratulate all winners Longleaf as cash prizes and our signature tiles are awarded in multiple categories. Applaud at will. The ceremony is free and open to the public; space is limited.  Saturday, May 13, following the final film block in Daniels Auditorium.
  • Wrap Party!
That’s a wrap! This is a FREE public reception for friends, family members, and other supporters of filmmakers and Longleaf in the Voodoo Room event space at the Big Easy—just a few blocks from the Museum of History, at 222 Fayetteville Street.  Your favorite beverage is on you; munchies are on Longleaf.  Plan to attend and make a donation—all donations will support Longleaf!  Saturday, May 13, following the awards ceremony.
