Music for the Longleaf 2023 reception is performed this year by local musician Leah MagnerJoin us in celebrating Longleaf 2023’s Official Selections filmmakers and their supporters. This is a relaxed event featuring beer, wine, munchies, and music—performed this year by local musician, Leah Magner.  This reception takes place in the lobby of our home base, the North Carolina Museum of History in downtown Raleigh. Parking is available on the street or in the visitor’s lot behind the museum, which you may enter from Edenton or Jones Street.

Leah Magner is a singer/songwriter who loves to put stories to music. She’s been playing around the Triangle for more than two decades, as a solo act and in bands such as Shotgun Romance, the Lulus, and Frim Fram Sauce. Her style falls firmly into the Americana genre, with a little country, a touch of blues, and folk-rock highlights. Her latest major release, A Thousand Secrets, is out now.

Spend the afternoon and evening with Longleaf:  Come at 5 p.m. to watch our opening film block of amazing films in Daniels Auditorium from 5 to 7 p.m., then enjoy the reception, and stay for Movies-N-Moonlight, our outdoor film block that screens on Bicentennial Plaza, just outside the museum’s front doors, from 8:30 to 10 p.m.!  Some chairs will be provided, or you can bring your own! In the case of inclement weather, we’ll watch inside!

Dress is Filmmaker Casual.

Let everyone know you’re coming to Longleaf!
