Movies-N-Moonlight, Take 3!

Movies-N-Moonlight, an outdoor film block!
Friday, May 13, 8:30–10 p.m.

Like all our film blocks, this one is free; but it’s also outside, and hopefully bathed in moonlight! Longleaf expands to Bicentennial Plaza—just outside the front doors of our home base, the North Carolina Museum of History—for this special screening!

Come for the afternoon–stay through the evening! Join us for an amazing opening film block on Friday afternoon; enjoy the reception to honor Longleaf 2022 Official Selection filmmakers and their supporters—and all friends of Longleaf—and stick around for independent films* under the moon and stars.

Some seating will be provided, or bring your own! In case of inclement weather, films will be shown in Daniels Auditorium (maximum occupancy: 300 seats).

Movies-N-Moonlight, Film Block B
8:30 to 10 p.m.
Abby Davenport, Aiden Winter-Deely: Mundance (Animated Film, 5 minutes)
Maria is tired of her mundane office job and wishes her life were like a musical.
In case of inclement weather, Movies-N-Moonlight films, Film Block B, will be screened in Daniels Auditorium. Olympia Stone: The Uncommon Garden (Documentary Short, 21 minutes)
Creating a lush and layered secret garden with thousands of plants, trees, several ponds, and even a stone dragon was not on Dan Krebill’s agenda—until fate intervened and prompted a collaboration that changed the landscape in one corner of his community.
Audrey Horner: Sadie Rock and the Mad Ryans: “Fairy Tale” (High School Student Film, Music Video; 4 minutes)
A version of the song “Fairy Tale” appears on this group’s All In album. The Durham-based group delivers saucy, fresh rock that is 100 percent original and blends rock ’n’ roll, pop, a little alternative, a hint of southern, a pinch of punk, and a dash of jazz and blues.
Cameron Wolfslayer: To the Roof (Narrative Short, 13 minutes)
Ava and Georgie’s friendship is tested when the friends disagree on their futures after high school graduation.
Anita Clark-Anderson: Goodbye (Narrative Short, 5 minutes)
Adios, arrivederci, auf Wiedersehen. Friends say good-bye forever.
Justin Meckes: 9 Brief Films from Suburban Zen (Spoken Word, 8 minutes)
Tiny stories, poems, humorous reflections, and deep thoughts.
Isaiah Forte-Rose: Mixed Head (Narrative Short, 1 minute)
A group of separate personalities must come together to make a decision.
Bonnie Monteleone: 356 (Documentary Short, 12 minutes)
Hoping to tell the story about one of the most endangered whale species on the planet, a crew is launched into an unexpected journey—of something hidden from the world—while filming off the coast of North Carolina.
MK Singleton: Good Boy Cerberus (Narrative Short, 6 minutes)
When Cerberus, a three-headed puppy, ends up on the lord of the underworld’s doorstep, he goes through guard dog training to become useful to his new master. Will he remain a cute and loving puppy or end up the monster that he was born to be?

*Note: While these independent films are not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), most would fall within the PG-13 range.
