Join us in the Demonstration Gallery (lobby level) for this discussion on the ins and outs of getting projects to distribution. The workshop is free, but registration is required, and lunch requires advance payment of $10; space is limited.

Thomas Varnum is an entertainment and intellectual property attorney with the firm of Brooks Pierce in Wilmington. An avid proponent of the North Carolina film industry, he helps producers and directors through the entire filmmaking process.

Ted Roach is an editor, director, and producer who has worked in the film and digital media industry for 20 years. His feature documentary 120 Days (about an undocumented Mexican family caught in the throes of US deportation) won 14 awards on the festival circuit and was picked up for distribution by Gravitas Ventures in late 2015. In 2017, 120 Days had its national broadcast premiere on public television’s Reel South series. Over the years, he has worked in such varied roles as assistant director, production coordinator, production assistant, and assistant talent agent.  120 Days was a Longleaf 2015 award winner.

Lunch
Box lunches will be ordered for your enjoyment during this workshop, and will include a choice of sandwich (including a veggie option), chips, cookie, and drink.  Lunches must be reserved and prepaid; we will not accept payment on the day of the session.
